A salty warmth permeates the air of Aesop’s renovated Venice Beach location, drifting through the store’s entrance to its opened-up courtyard. Inspired by Eileen Gray and Jean Badovici’s seaside villa E-1027, the store is resolutely domestic and conceived for the wellbeing and interiority of its inhabitants.
Our in-house design department pursued memories of coastal retreats: marine blue volumes anchors themselves beneath a luminous skylight. Locally sourced granite inlays mark out a passage within the store while Californian sunlight creates ephemeral forms on crisp white walls.
