The third iteration of our store within the International Finance Centre mall in Hong Kong looks back at the way 1970s designers looked forward. An expanded shopfloor unlocks experiential possibilities, inviting visitors to while some time away in this beguiling atmosphere.

The space is one of suspended illumination, where time is warped by non-linear forms and soft furnishings. Perforated surfaces and acoustic insulation provide aural relief from the bustling retail centre, attenuating any sense of urgency. In the spirit of futuristic utilitarianism, the architectural language is streamlined and pure: shelves appear to hover on the walls, while the central basin’s smooth geometric form and contrasting neutral tones allude to iconic designs of that era. Behind the counter, a digital clock from the 1970s keeps silent track of the hours passed in sensory contemplation.

Tucked into the back corner of the room, a Fragrance Armoire allows for an intimate encounter with our array of Eaux de Parfum. A couch from our collection of reclaimed furniture offers a comfortable vantage point from which to take in the tranquil scenery. Our in-house design team was careful to breathe new purpose into other enduring elements such as cabinetry hardware and light fixtures. Materials were chosen for their renewable sources and ability to be recycled. This site also offers a Rinse and Return service for Aesop bottles via a discreet receptacle on the façade, where customers are invited to sort spent packaging into paper, glass, and plastic categories.
