In its largely open plan, the key elements stand independently, clearly articulating their different purposes—the central communal sinks where visitors can try products on their skin, the freestanding shelving system for leisurely browsing, the point-of-sale counter at the far end. The material palette of stone, wood and fabric, accented with metals both reflective and patinated, creates a rich, textured atmosphere, suited to quiet curiosity and gentle talk.

Aesop Sendlingerstrasse’s reconditioned pieces—wall-mounted consoles from a former Aesop store in Hanover, and freestanding shelves, which were originally designed by BBPR for Olivetti, New York—contribute to that impression of liveliness, too. Amid its purpose-built fittings, they have their own spirited story to tell about what the pre-loved can bring to the new.
